چکیده

Distributed computing in large-size dynamic networks often requires the availability at each and every node of globally aggregated information about some overall properties of the network. In this context, traditional broadcasting solutions become inadequate as the number of participating nodes increases. Therefore, aggregation schemes inspired by the physical/biological phenomenon of diffusion have been recently proposed as a simple yet effective alternative to solve the problem. However, diffusive aggregation algorithms require solutions to cope with the dynamics of the network and/or of the values being aggregated solutions, which are typically based on periodic restarts (epoch-based approaches). This paper proposes an original and autonomic solution, relying on coupling diffusive aggregation schemes with the ‘‘bio-inspired’’ mechanism of evaporation. While a gossip-based diffusive communication scheme is used to aggregate values over a network, gradual evaporation of values can be exploited to account for network and value dynamics without requiring periodic restarts. A comparative performance evaluation shows that the evaporative approach is able to manage the dynamism of the values and of the network structure in an effective way: in most situations it leads to more accurate aggregate estimations than epoch-based techniques. © 2010 Elsevier B.V. Optimization and increase production and efficiency of gas turbines GE-F9 using Media evaporative cooler in Fars combined cycle power plant

Gas turbines play an important role in supplying power for the country especially in peak electricity load. The main disadvantages are the turbines, they produce large changes are a result of climate change. However, in times of peak electricity grid and at the same time warm months, can produce gas turbines under the effect of ambient temperature, the amount of reduced considerably. The method...

From diffusive motion to local aggregation: Effect of surface contamination in dipolophoresis†

We investigate the effects of surface contamination, modeled as a thin dielectric coating, on the dynamics in suspensions of ideally polarizable spheres in an applied electric field using large-scale direct particle simulations. In the case of clean particles (no contamination), the suspensions are known to undergo dipolophoresis, or a combination of dielectrophoresis, which tends to cause part...

Microsoft Word - manuscript rev2 v2

Background: -synuclein is an aggregation-prone protein which reconfigures more slowly under aggregating conditions. Results: Curcumin binds to monomeric synuclein, prevents aggregation and increases the reconfiguration rate, particularly at high temperatures. Conclusion: Curcumin rescues the protein from aggregation by making the protein more diffusive. Significance: The search for aggregatio...

Superlinearly convergent exact penalty projected structured Hessian updating schemes for constrained nonlinear least squares: asymptotic analysis

We present a structured algorithm for solving constrained nonlinear least squares problems, and establish its local two-step Q-superlinear convergence. The approach is based on an adaptive structured scheme due to Mahdavi-Amiri and Bartels of the exact penalty method of Coleman and Conn for nonlinearly constrained optimization problems. The structured adaptation also makes use of the ideas of N...

An OWA-TOPSIS method for multiple criteria decision analysis

A hybrid approach integrating OWA (Ordered Weighted Averaging) aggregation into TOPSIS (technique for order performance by similarity to ideal solution) is proposed to tackle multiple criteria decision analysis (MCDA) problems. First, the setting of extreme points (ideal and anti-ideal points) in TOPSIS is redefined and extended for handling the multiple extreme points situation where a decisio...
